In the second World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS) race of the season, Lisa Tertsch of the Liv Racing Collective powered her way to a third-place finish in the Women's Elite category - racing the rain-slicked course on her EnviLiv Advanced SL. "I was looking for a podium spot. Of course, the goal is always to win, and I gave it all I had on that day, and I am happy with third place," Tertsch said after the race.

Facing cold and rainy conditions, Tertsch admitted to mixed emotions at the start. "Because of the weather conditions, I was both nervous and excited about how I would manage the rainy conditions, and excited to see what my preparation would show in the race," she said. "I practiced some cornering in rainy conditions because that was likely to happen, and it did." Her preparation paid off. "I am pleased with the result. I swam really well, handled my bike well, and managed to stay safe in very challenging and rainy conditions, and then dug deep on the run," she shared.

With this bronze medal in Yokohama, Tertsch will remain in the top spot of the overall rankings for 2025, after taking the first win of the season in Abu Dhabi. "It feels great to perform at a world-class level consistently and come away with another medal at the second WTCS race of the year."

The German athlete will now turn her attention to the next stop on the WTCS calendar in Alghero on May 31st, as she builds momentum toward a potential world title challenge.
