From the stage race breakaway to the final criterium lap, the EnviLiv is made to be out front. We’ve designed our signature sprinter for optimised aerodynamic performance, greater stiffness-to-weight advantage, and maximum trophies.
tech & features
Advanced Composite Technology
Giant’s High Performance Grade raw carbon material is used to produce this custom frame material in our own composite factory with a high stiffness-to-weight ratio. The front triangle of these framesets is assembled and molded as one continuous piece in a proprietary manufacturing process called Modified Monocoque Construction.
AeroSystem Shaping Technology
Through CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and wind-tunnel data, engineers optimize each tube shape to deliver superior aerodynamic performance.
OverDrive Areo
Found inside the head tube of the Defy, Propel and TCR ranges, the D-shaped fork steerer tube and corresponding spacers provide an extremely aerodynamic, easier to service system of internally routed brake and derailleur cables.
PowerCore
A massively oversized bottom-bracket/chainstay area features a fully integrated, 86-millimeter wide bottom-bracket design (92-millimeter wide for off-road bikes). Asymmetric chainstays provide additional stiffness on the driveside and stability on the non-driveside.
Tubeless System
Fewer flat tires. Greater traction. Less rolling resistance and a smoother, faster ride. Giant’s Tubeless System makes it easier than ever to experience all these benefits.
Vector Seatpost
This full-composite, lightweight and highly aerodynamic seatpost is engineered specifically for performance road riding.

KEY PERFORMANCE FACTORS
In our pursuit of maximum power and efficiency, we analyse how the bike and rider experience airflow at every speed and direction, both on the computer and in the wind tunnel. The new EnviLiv features truncated ellipse airfoil tube shapes and the Liv Contact SL handlebar, with flattened tops and deeper drops, for reduced drag and added control, and better overall aero performance.
Aerodynamics are affected by many factors, two of them often seen as mutually exclusive: stiffness and weight. But the EnviLiv has found the sweet spot, with a new Advanced-grade composite frame and fork—resulting in 292 grams of weight savings over the previous generation.
When every second matters, so does every detail. So we developed a way to route cables through the handlebar, stem, and frame, which improves aero performance, and also makes it easier to disassemble your bike for travel and maintenance. Two aerodynamic water bottle cages flawlessly integrate with the seat tube and down tube, further reducing drag.

The most accurate way to determine any bike’s weight is to have your local dealer weigh it for you. Many brands strive to list the lowest possible weight, but in reality weight can vary based on size, finish, hardware and accessories. All our bikes are designed for best-in-class weight and ride quality.
